I have always believed that the origin of design is the designer's empathy and that good design requires one to be firmly rooted in life. However, we live in an age where change is happening at an unimaginable pace. What can I do? In other words, what questions can I ask and what solutions can I offer in response? My speculative questions range from proposing ways to help traditional craftspeople re-establish their self-identity in the metaverse, to thinking about new modes of interaction with the setting of human-artificial light relationships, to proposing solutions for a remote kung fu interaction system for the elderly in China in the post-epidemic era. As a designer, these projects are informed by my observations and questioning of reality, and through critical thinking about my own practice, evaluation and constant revision, I will continue to develop my intellectual skills (tools) and understanding. People have created enough tools, and my next task is to use them properly rather than be used by them.
